Story Details: The Prophet of Sciences and the First of the Mujahideen (Strivers)

Idris (PBUH) was a wise and knowledgeable Prophet. It is believed that he studied and taught a lot, which is why he was named Idris. God sent him during a period when the descendants of Qabil (Cain) started spreading corruption and aggression. Thus, Idris was the first to establish civil laws, and the first to prescribe Jihad (Striving) to defend the believers, so he prepared an army, fought the corrupters, and defeated them.

One of his most important achievements is that he was the first to write with the pen, from which writing spread. He was also the first to sew clothes, after people used to wear animal hides. These achievements made him a founder of early human civilization.

The End of Exaltation

The most prominent mention in the Quran is his distinguished ending, where God "raised him to a high station". This is a sign of his great status, and some interpret it as him being raised alive to the fourth heaven, where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) saw him during the Night Journey and Ascension (Isra and Mi'raj).
