An-Naba The Tidings

سُورَةُ النَّبَإِ

رقمها ٧٨ عدد آياتها ٤٠

عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ١

About what are they asking one another?

Saheeh International

AAamma yatasaaloon

Transliteration

عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ٢

About the great news -

Saheeh International

AAani annabai alAAatheem

Transliteration

ٱلَّذِي هُمۡ فِيهِ مُخۡتَلِفُونَ ٣

That over which they are in disagreement.

Saheeh International

Allathee hum feehi mukhtalifoon

Transliteration

كـَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ ٤

No! They are going to know.

Saheeh International

Kalla sayaAAlamoon

Transliteration

ثُمَّ كـَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ ٥

Then, no! They are going to know.

Saheeh International

Thumma kalla sayaAAlamoon

Transliteration

أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِهَٰدٗا ٦

Have We not made the earth a resting place?

Saheeh International

Alam najAAali alarda mihada

Transliteration

وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَوۡتَادٗا ٧

And the mountains as stakes?

Saheeh International

Waljibala awtada

Transliteration

وَخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ٨

And We created you in pairs

Saheeh International

Wakhalaqnakum azwaja

Transliteration

وَجَعَلۡنَا نَوۡمَكُمۡ سُبَاتٗا ٩

And made your sleep [a means for] rest

Saheeh International

WajaAAalna nawmakum subata

Transliteration

وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلَّيۡلَ لِبَاسٗا ١٠

And made the night as clothing

Saheeh International

WajaAAalna allayla libasa

Transliteration

وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشٗا ١١

And made the day for livelihood

Saheeh International

WajaAAalna annahara maAAasha

Transliteration

وَبَنَيۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعٗا شِدَادٗا ١٢

And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]

Saheeh International

Wabanayna fawqakum sabAAan shidada

Transliteration

وَجَعَلۡنَا سِرَاجٗا وَهَّاجٗا ١٣

And made [therein] a burning lamp

Saheeh International

WajaAAalna sirajan wahhaja

Transliteration

وَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُعۡصِرَٰتِ مَآءٗ ثَجَّاجٗا ١٤

And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water

Saheeh International

Waanzalna mina almuAAsirati maan thajjaja

Transliteration

لِّنُخۡرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبّٗا وَنَبَاتٗا ١٥

That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation

Saheeh International

Linukhrija bihi habban wanabata

Transliteration

وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلۡفَافًا ١٦

And gardens of entwined growth.

Saheeh International

Wajannatin alfafa

Transliteration

إِنَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتٗا ١٧

Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -

Saheeh International

Inna yawma alfasli kana meeqata

Transliteration

يَوۡمَ يُنفَخُ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأۡتُونَ أَفۡوَاجٗا ١٨

The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes

Saheeh International

Yawma yunfakhu fee assoori fatatoona afwaja

Transliteration

وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ أَبۡوَٰبٗا ١٩

And the heaven is opened and will become gateways

Saheeh International

Wafutihati assamao fakanat abwaba

Transliteration

وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ فَكَانَتۡ سَرَابًا ٢٠

And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage.

Saheeh International

Wasuyyirati aljibalu fakanat saraba

Transliteration

إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتۡ مِرۡصَادٗا ٢١

Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait

Saheeh International

Inna jahannama kanat mirsada

Transliteration

لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابٗا ٢٢

For the transgressors, a place of return,

Saheeh International

Littagheena maaba

Transliteration

لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحۡقَابٗا ٢٣

In which they will remain for ages [unending].

Saheeh International

Labitheena feeha ahqaba

Transliteration

لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرۡدٗا وَلَا شَرَابًا ٢٤

They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink

Saheeh International

La yathooqoona feeha bardan wala sharaba

Transliteration

إِلَّا حَمِيمٗا وَغَسَّاقٗا ٢٥

Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -

Saheeh International

Illa hameeman waghassaqa

Transliteration

جَزَآءٗ وِفَاقًا ٢٦

An appropriate recompense.

Saheeh International

Jazaan wifaqa

Transliteration

إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ حِسَابٗا ٢٧

Indeed, they were not expecting an account

Saheeh International

Innahum kanoo la yarjoona hisaba

Transliteration

وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابٗا ٢٨

And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial.

Saheeh International

Wakaththaboo biayatina kiththaba

Transliteration

وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ كِتَٰبٗا ٢٩

But all things We have enumerated in writing.

Saheeh International

Wakulla shayin ahsaynahu kitaba

Transliteration

فَذُوقُواْ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمۡ إِلَّا عَذَابًا ٣٠

"So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment."

Saheeh International

Fathooqoo falan nazeedakum illa AAathaba

Transliteration

إِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا ٣١

Indeed, for the righteous is attainment -

Saheeh International

Inna lilmuttaqeena mafaza

Transliteration

حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعۡنَٰبٗا ٣٢

Gardens and grapevines

Saheeh International

Hadaiqa waaAAnaba

Transliteration

وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتۡرَابٗا ٣٣

And full-breasted [companions] of equal age

Saheeh International

WakawaAAiba atraba

Transliteration

وَكَأۡسٗا دِهَاقٗا ٣٤

And a full cup.

Saheeh International

Wakasan dihaqa

Transliteration

لَّا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا كِذَّٰبٗا ٣٥

No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -

Saheeh International

La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala kiththaba

Transliteration

جَزَآءٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابٗا ٣٦

[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account,

Saheeh International

Jazaan min rabbika AAataan hisaba

Transliteration

رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۖ لَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِنۡهُ خِطَابٗا ٣٧

[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.

Saheeh International

Rabbi assamawati walardi wama baynahuma arrahmani la yamlikoona minhu khitaba

Transliteration

يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفّٗاۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابٗا ٣٨

The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.

Saheeh International

Yawma yaqoomu arroohu walmalaikatu saffan la yatakallamoona illa man athina lahu arrahmanu waqala sawaba

Transliteration

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا ٣٩

That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.

Saheeh International

Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maaba

Transliteration

إِنَّآ أَنذَرۡنَٰكُمۡ عَذَابٗا قَرِيبٗا يَوۡمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلۡمَرۡءُ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلۡكَافِرُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَٰبَۢا ٤٠

Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"

Saheeh International

Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya-laytanee kuntu turaba

Transliteration
