About what are they asking one another?
AAamma yatasaaloon
About the great news -
AAani annabai alAAatheem
That over which they are in disagreement.
Allathee hum feehi mukhtalifoon
No! They are going to know.
Kalla sayaAAlamoon
Then, no! They are going to know.
Thumma kalla sayaAAlamoon
Have We not made the earth a resting place?
Alam najAAali alarda mihada
And the mountains as stakes?
Waljibala awtada
And We created you in pairs
Wakhalaqnakum azwaja
And made your sleep [a means for] rest
WajaAAalna nawmakum subata
And made the night as clothing
WajaAAalna allayla libasa
And made the day for livelihood
WajaAAalna annahara maAAasha
And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]
Wabanayna fawqakum sabAAan shidada
And made [therein] a burning lamp
WajaAAalna sirajan wahhaja
And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water
Waanzalna mina almuAAsirati maan thajjaja
That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation
Linukhrija bihi habban wanabata
And gardens of entwined growth.
Wajannatin alfafa
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -
Inna yawma alfasli kana meeqata
The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes
Yawma yunfakhu fee assoori fatatoona afwaja
And the heaven is opened and will become gateways
Wafutihati assamao fakanat abwaba
And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage.
Wasuyyirati aljibalu fakanat saraba
Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait
Inna jahannama kanat mirsada
For the transgressors, a place of return,
Littagheena maaba
In which they will remain for ages [unending].
Labitheena feeha ahqaba
They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink
La yathooqoona feeha bardan wala sharaba
Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -
Illa hameeman waghassaqa
An appropriate recompense.
Jazaan wifaqa
Indeed, they were not expecting an account
Innahum kanoo la yarjoona hisaba
And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial.
Wakaththaboo biayatina kiththaba
But all things We have enumerated in writing.
Wakulla shayin ahsaynahu kitaba
"So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment."
Fathooqoo falan nazeedakum illa AAathaba
Indeed, for the righteous is attainment -
Inna lilmuttaqeena mafaza
Gardens and grapevines
Hadaiqa waaAAnaba
And full-breasted [companions] of equal age
WakawaAAiba atraba
And a full cup.
Wakasan dihaqa
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala kiththaba
[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account,
Jazaan min rabbika AAataan hisaba
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.
Rabbi assamawati walardi wama baynahuma arrahmani la yamlikoona minhu khitaba
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.
Yawma yaqoomu arroohu walmalaikatu saffan la yatakallamoona illa man athina lahu arrahmanu waqala sawaba
That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.
Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maaba
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"
Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya-laytanee kuntu turaba
