The Inevitable Reality -
Alhaqqa
What is the Inevitable Reality?
Ma alhaqqa
And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality?
Wama adraka ma alhaqqa
Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity.
Kaththabat thamoodu waAAadun bilqariAAa
So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast].
Faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bittaghiya
And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind
Waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehin sarsarin AAatiya
Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees.
Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalin wathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fatara alqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin khawiya
Then do you see of them any remains?
Fahal tara lahum min baqiya
And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin.
Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu walmutafikatu bilkhatia
And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity].
FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiya
Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship
Inna lamma tagha almao hamalnakum fee aljariya
That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it.
LinajAAalaha lakum tathkiratan wataAAiyaha othunun waAAiya
Then when the Horn is blown with one blast
Faitha nufikha fee assoori nafkhatun wahida
And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow -
Wahumilati alardu waljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahida
Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,
Fayawmaithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAa
And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.
Wanshaqqati assamao fahiya yawmaithin wahiya
And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].
Walmalaku AAala arjaiha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawmaithin thamaniya
That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed.
Yawmaithin tuAAradoona la takhfa minkum khafiya
So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record!
Faamma man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi fayaqoolu haomu iqraoo kitabiyah
Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account."
Innee thanantu annee mulaqin hisabiyah
So he will be in a pleasant life -
Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiya
In an elevated garden,
Fee jannatin AAaliya
Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near.
Qutoofuha daniya
[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past."
Kuloo washraboo haneean bima aslaftum fee alayyami alkhaliya
But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record
Waamma man ootiya kitabahu bishimalihi fayaqoolu ya-laytanee lam oota kitabiyah
And had not known what is my account.
Walam adri ma hisabiyah
I wish my death had been the decisive one.
Ya-laytaha kanati alqadiya
My wealth has not availed me.
Ma aghna AAannee maliyah
Gone from me is my authority."
Halaka AAannee sultaniyah
[Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him.
Khuthoohu faghullooh
Then into Hellfire drive him.
Thumma aljaheema sallooh
Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him."
Thumma fee silsilatin tharAAuha sabAAoona thiraAAan faslukooh
Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great,
Innahu kana la yuminu billahi alAAatheem
Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor.
Wala yahuddu AAala taAAami almiskeen
So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend
Falaysa lahu alyawma hahuna hameem
Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds;
Wala taAAamun illa min ghisleen
None will eat it except the sinners.
La yakuluhu illa alkhatioon
So I swear by what you see
Fala oqsimu bima tubsiroon
And what you do not see
Wama la tubsiroon
[That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger.
Innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareem
And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe.
Wama huwa biqawli shaAAirin qaleelan ma tuminoon
Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember.
Wala biqawli kahinin qaleelan ma tathakkaroon
[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameen
And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings,
Walaw taqawwala AAalayna baAAda alaqaweel
We would have seized him by the right hand;
Laakhathna minhu bilyameen
Then We would have cut from him the aorta.
Thumma laqataAAna minhu alwateen
And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him.
Fama minkum min ahadin AAanhu hajizeen
And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous.
Wainnahu latathkiratun lilmuttaqeen
And indeed, We know that among you are deniers.
Wainna lanaAAlamu anna minkum mukaththibeen
And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers.
Wainnahu lahasratun AAala alkafireen
And indeed, it is the truth of certainty.
Wainnahu lahaqqu alyaqeen
So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great.
Fasabbih bismi rabbika alAAatheem
