Woe to those who give less [than due],
Waylun lilmutaffifeen
Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.
Allatheena itha iktaloo AAala annasi yastawfoon
But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.
Waitha kaloohum aw wazanoohum yukhsiroon
Do they not think that they will be resurrected
Ala yathunnu olaika annahum mabAAoothoon
For a tremendous Day -
Liyawmin AAatheem
The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds?
Yawma yaqoomu annasu lirabbi alAAalameen
No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen.
Kalla inna kitaba alfujjari lafee sijjeen
And what can make you know what is sijjeen?
Wama adraka ma sijjeen
It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed.
Kitabun marqoom
Woe, that Day, to the deniers,
Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeen
Who deny the Day of Recompense.
Allatheena yukaththiboona biyawmi addeen
And none deny it except every sinful transgressor.
Wama yukaththibu bihi illa kullu muAAtadin atheem
When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."
Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru alawwaleen
No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning.
Kalla bal rana AAala quloobihim ma kanoo yaksiboon
No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned.
Kalla innahum AAan rabbihim yawmaithin lamahjooboon
Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire.
Thumma innahum lasaloo aljaheem
Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny."
Thumma yuqalu hatha allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboon
No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun.
Kalla inna kitaba alabrari lafee AAilliyyeen
And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun?
Wama adraka ma AAilliyyoon
It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed
Kitabun marqoom
Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah].
Yashhaduhu almuqarraboon
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure
Inna alabrara lafee naAAeem
On adorned couches, observing.
AAala alaraiki yanthuroon
You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure.
TaAArifu fee wujoohihim nadrata annaAAeem
They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed.
Yusqawna min raheeqin makhtoom
The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete.
Khitamuhu miskun wafee thalika falyatanafasi almutanafisoon
And its mixture is of Tasneem,
Wamizajuhu min tasneem
A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink.
AAaynan yashrabu biha almuqarraboon
Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.
Inna allatheena ajramoo kanoo mina allatheena amanoo yadhakoon
And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances.
Waitha marroo bihim yataghamazoon
And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting.
Waitha inqalaboo ila ahlihimu inqalaboo fakiheen
And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost."
Waitha raawhum qaloo inna haolai ladalloon
But they had not been sent as guardians over them.
Wama orsiloo AAalayhim hafitheen
So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers,
Falyawma allatheena amanoo mina alkuffari yadhakoon
On adorned couches, observing.
AAala alaraiki yanthuroon
Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do?
Hal thuwwiba alkuffaru ma kanoo yafAAaloon
