World time zones by country

The table below lists all world time zones by country (or territory) as of March 13, 2025. France leads the list of countries with the most time zones at 12 zones, followed by the United Kingdom, Denmark, New Zealand, and the Netherlands - where most of these zones are used in overseas territories.

Countries that have multiple time zones within their mainland include: Russia, United States, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kiribati, Micronesia, Chile, Spain, Portugal, and Ecuador.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is widely implemented in Europe and North America, in addition to parts of Africa, Australia, and South America. This system aims to make better use of longer daylight hours in summer by setting clocks one hour forward in spring, and one hour back in autumn when DST ends.
