Biography of Sheikh Abdulaziz Suhaim
- Sheikh Abdulaziz Suhaim is one of the distinguished Qur’an reciters in Algeria and the Arab world. He was born in M’sila Province, Algeria, in 1996 and grew up in a religious family known for its devotion to the Holy Qur’an and Islamic teachings.
- From an early age, Sheikh Abdulaziz showed a deep passion for the Qur’an. His father enrolled him in a traditional Qur’anic school at the age of five, where he began memorizing the Holy Qur’an and studying the rules of Tajweed according to the traditional Algerian method.
- His exceptional talent in recitation became evident during childhood, as he frequently participated in religious gatherings and school events. Due to his remarkable voice and mastery of recitation, he began leading prayers at a young age.
- Sheikh Abdulaziz continued his academic studies at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the University of M’sila. Alongside his university education, he further refined his recitation skills and developed a unique style that later earned him wide recognition across Algeria and beyond.
- He is widely admired for his emotional and captivating voice, combining the traditional Algerian recitation style with influences from the Egyptian school of Qur’anic recitation. He commonly recites according to the narration of Warsh ‘an Nafi‘, which gives his recitation a distinctive and elegant tone appreciated by millions of listeners.
- Sheikh Abdulaziz Suhaim gained significant popularity through social media after videos of his Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers went viral, especially from mosques in M’sila and later from the Great Mosque of Algiers.
- Throughout his career, he has received several honors and recognitions in Qur’anic competitions and religious events. He is considered one of the most influential young Qur’an reciters of his generation due to his humility, mastery, and spiritually moving recitations.
